1955 – Born February 24, adopted and named Stephen Paul jobs

1972 – Enrolls at reed college, Oregon, drops out after a semester

1974 – Works for a video game maker Atari, attends meetings of homebrew computer club with Steve wozniak

1976 – Apple computer formed on April 1, after wozniak and jobs create a circuit board I a garage, apple 1 goes on sale by summer

1977 – Apple unveils apple 2, first personal computer to generate colour graphics

1978 – Job’s daughter Lisa is born to his girl friend chris-ann-bennan

1983 – Lisa computer goes on sale. Jobs lures john sculley away from PepsiCo to serve as apple CEO

1984 – Macintosh goes on sale

1985 – Jobs and sculley clash, leading to jobs resignation, wozniak also resigns

1986 – Jobs starts next.inc, buys pixar from star wars creator George Lucas

1989 – First next goes on sale

1993 – Apple reports quarterly loss of $188 million. Sculley replaced as CEO , resigns

1995 – Apple struggles with competition

1996 – Apple announces a plan to buy NEXT. Jobs appointed adviser to apple

1997 – Job becomes “interim”CEO

1998 – Apple returns to profitability. Imac desktop a big hit

2000 – Interim label is removed from jobs CEO title

2001 – First I pod goes on sale, apple releases itunes software

2003 – Apple launches itunes music store

2004 – Jobs undergoes a surgery for pancreatic cancer

2006 – Disney buys pixar for $7.4 billion

2007 – Apple releases I phone

2008 – Speculations mounts that jobs is ill

2009 – Jobs goes on leave, returns in June, he receives a liver transplant

2010 – Apple sells 15mn ipads

Jan 17 2011 – jobs goes on second medical leave

August 24, 2011 – jobs quits as CEO

Oct 11 2011 – jobs dies with cancer
